The 16th Convocation of International Buddhist College
The International Buddhist College held its 16th Convocation on 3 September 2023 at IBC Auditorium Hall at 1:00p.m. (Thai time). After some announcements made by the emcee in English and Chinese medium, the auspicious event started with striking of drums and bells. Soon after, the procession of Academic Staff and Graduands entered the hall.
This year many distinguished guests and their family members attended this grand graduation ceremony. The ceremony began with a speech delivered by the Chairman of IBC Council, the Most Venerable Dr. Wei Wu and followed by the speech delivered by Vice Rector of IBC, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa. Then, Dean of Graduate School, Associate Professor Dr. Mattia Salvini read out the list of graduands for Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts followed by Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Dr. Fa Qing read out the list of graduands for Bachelor of Arts. The honourable Vice Rector, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa conferred the Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees. After that, Venerable Dr. Wei Wu, the Chairman of IBC Council presented the Award of Outstanding Academic and Conduct Performance to Ven. Joy Barua and Min Myat Aung.
Speeches of appreciation were delivered by Ms. Hong Mei Yue in English and Mr. Liu Zuhui in Chinese respectively. Next, it was a memorable moment to have signature by Vice Rector of IBC, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa on the “Register of Graduates”. The convocation ceremony ended with IBC Theme Song “For The Good of The Many”. After that were group photo session and refreshment.
Thank you to all members who contributed either directly or indirectly to the success of this event. It was very much appreciated!
