I was delightful and appreciated to participate in this year’s Moon cake festival and 10th convocation‘s ceremony which all of IBC’s members had joy and beautiful smiles. It was my first chance to meet and have a friendly chat with many Venerables, Lecturers, and Dhamma friends. Though it was a short period of time, it means a lot to me to present in these activities that bring the power of loving-kindness to one another, and so we can treat everybody as sons and daughters of the Buddha. Doesn’t matter what races we are and what color our skins are, we are family likewise, we have the same purpose for learning and practicing the Buddha’s teaching for the good of ourselves as well as the others beings.

As we all know that IBC’s students come from various (countries) nationalities, therefore, this (the) convocation was colorful with traditional dresses of the countries and respectful to the teachers by graduated students who completed their B.A. and M.A. degrees. Sincerely, I felt happy for them when they are finally able to see the value of their hard working.

Additionally, this sort of moment does not usually occur, just once a year therefore it might be the best memory for all of us while we still have a chance to live and learn from one to another. That is not brag to say it is not easy to have this pleasant atmosphere because usually, the students spend their time on individual studying or personal business.

In another way, it was surprise for me to learn from Shi Fu the background of the festival which includes the significance of celebrating this auspicious ceremony. Despite the fact that it is not a big occasion yet it is meaningful enough to bring people a joyful experience when they have a chance to reunite with their families and old friends along with seeing beautiful light of candles on the Full moon night.

In short (In my opinion), I really loved this event. In the meantime I could learn something new from many distinctive cultures. Hopefully, next year it will be able to conduct once again for new students to join in.
