Pre-celebrated Vesak Day
(IBC May 10, 2008) At 10:00 am, we were gathered in front of the library to celebrate the birth, the enlightenment and the nirvana of the Buddha, this is known as Vesak day.
The ceremony began with chanting in the Theravada tradition followed by chanting in the Mahayana tradition. While chanting Buddha's name we bathed the little Buddha. After this program, Venerable Zhen Ru, the superintendent of IBC, gave a talk on behalf of the founder of IBC the most Venerable Wei Wu.
Apart from bathing the little Buddha, stories of the Buddha were on display.
