3rd Metta Free Clinic at IBC Korat Education Centre
International Buddhist College and Klintiendharm Foundation ('fragrant sandalwood') held a third Metta Free Clinic at IBC Korat Education Centre in Pak Thong Chai from 18 - 22 September. This follow-up clinic was held after the first and second clinic proved to be such a success which was held respectively in mid February and June. There were a total number of 621 patient visits over the five days of our community project. This time 375 new patients took the treatment.
The six-member Metta Clinic team, headed by Dr Wu Guo Qiang from Penang, Malaysia arrived on the 18th of September, 2011. The first treatment starts at 2.00pm of 18th September.
IBC would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of Dr Wu Guo Qiang and his team. We extend our gratitude with a deep appreciation to all sponsors and volunteers.
District Business Club, District Lions Club and P-ice factory, Pak Thong Chai sponsored the supports for the airfare for the medical team.
Volunteers from the local community and the IBC teachers, students and staff worked enthusiastically and dedicated a huge amount of time and effort throughout the five day clinic.
The clinic enjoyed a high percentage of patient revisits with old and new and patient recommendations.
The Metta Free Clinic has proven to be a winning success and with the commitment of the local community and IBC working together. We look forward to working in partnership on future project that enhances the life style of the local community.
