Course Organization: 

The course will be organized based on the above mentioned book used as the main source. Each week there will be extensive class work after the lesson. There will be two written examinations: midterm and final.

The course is consisted of 15 weeks and covers the following topics:

  • Lecture 10 Pronouns
  • Lecture 11 Adjectives
  • Lecture 12 Determiners
  • Lecture 13 Adverbs
  • Lecture 14 Prepositions
  • Lecture 15 Spelling rules
Course Requirements: 

Students should be present in a minimum of 80% of the scheduled classes to be eligible to sit for the final written examination. All students will be required:

  • 1.to complete written assignment during the term
  • 2.to complete two written examinations (mid-term and final)
Allocation of Marks: 
  • Class /Home Work 20%
  • Midterm Exam 30%
  • Final Exam 50%
Course Objectives: 

At the end of the course, students will be able understand the basic rules of English Grammar, spelling and punctuation. With a good foundation they will be able to write a well- structured essay suitable for their studies.

Grading: 

All tests, assignments and examinations are graded as follows with grade point and numerical marks:
