Course Organization: 

The course will be organized based on lectures, assessed based on assignments, viva voce and examinations. It will follow the conceptual development and chronical sequence indicated in the course description. The course also covers the introduction to Sarvāstivāda Abhidharma Terminology; survey of the orthodoxy in Kasmira, i.e. the 6+1 Abhidharma texts and Branches of Sarvāstivāda School. Class participation and discussion will be encouraged. A suitable amount of time will be allocated at the end for review and examination preparation.

Course Requirements: 

Minimum attendance of 80% required; a written assignment, a viva voce interview with the instructor, and a final examination.
