The Most Venerable U Nayaka - Outstanding Educator Award Recipient at IBC 12th Convocation
Prof Kapila, the Vice Rector and Dean of Religious Studies, read the citation for the Most Venerable Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja U Nayaka at IBC 12th Convocation Ceremony.
“It is an honour for me to introduce most venerable Aggamaha saddhammajotika dhaja U Nayaka Maha Thero of Myanmar whose name has been confirmed by the council of international Buddhist College to be a recipient of the award of outstanding educator, today, at the occasion of 12th convocation of International Buddhist College
Aggamaha Saddhamma jotika dhaja, Venerable Nayaka Maha Thero, a leading monk in modern monastic education movement, educator with 37 years of experience, dedicated his life and soul for improvement of Myanmar education system. In recognition of his great service and dedication, he was awarded the highest honourary name of Agga maha saddhammajotika Dhaja by the government of Myanmar and also presented President's Excellent Award, Citizen of Burma and many more. His mission in, education for all, started on a rubbish land in Mandalay, which he turned into vibrant and busy school of more than 7000 students per year. He not only educates children and young people, he also accommodates and feeds some of them. Regardless of any barriers and challenges through the journey in bringing up education system of Myanmar, he tirelessly put in his effort and energy because he believes that the way of fulfilling Panna Parami for himself and for others, in this life."
