A group of IBC faculty members, administrative staff and students visited the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), the leading institute of higher learning in North-East Region (Isan) of Thailand on Dec 17, 2012. The purpose of visit was to establish a mutual relationship and cooperation between two institutions. IBC team expressed its high appreciation and thankfulness to SUT for giving the opportunities to learn on various aspects and skills of running an institution, especially in administrative and learning and teaching methodologies etc.

After the video presentation of SUT, Ms. Jantana Promsiri, the Head of the Department of the Academic Promoting and Supporting, together with her Quality Assurance (QA) team shared their experiences with IBC members on QA. SUT QA team has provided a useful input and practical method on how to conduct a good QA work for an institution. We will surely continue to work intimately with the team in this area in coming day.

After the QA session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waraporn Eoskoon has given an interesting and informative presentation on Teaching-Learning Process: Student Centered Learning. Dr. Waraporn is the Head of Faculty of Development Academy of SUT.

After having lunch at Surasammanakhan Hotel at SUT, we attended a presentation given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sunitiya Thuannadee, the Deputy Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development (COOP) on the topic of COOP in education and management process. Last but not least, IBC members visited the magnificent Center of Library Resources and Educational Media of SUT. There Ms. Suparak Mernkra-tok, the Head of the Information Literacy and Promotion Division, gave a short briefing on the library management system and brought our team to see every corner of the library. Finally we also had an opportunity to meet Mr. Pongsak Withayagiat, the Head of Research and Education Media Production Department, to listen his vast experiences on SUT eLearning. There was a Q&A session after every presentation. As a token of appreciation IBC offered some souvenirs, books etc to every speaker and SUT.

IBC considers such visit as a highly valuable and educational and we sincerely look forward for the coming opportunity of mutual cooperation and support.
